The December 2011 meeting took place on December 1, 2011. The meeting started at 6:30 with introductions and welcomes. The announcements of upcoming events and the schools “Wish-List” were covered.
The parents were informed that the raffle last month raised a little under $250 and that the next raffle will be held on January 12, 2011. There was also a request for volunteers for this raffle.
They were also informed that the school received a grant of $2,500 from RHE Charitable Foundation for the Parent Association.
The meeting was then turned over to Dr. Romi Mann and Mr. Shun Younger for their workshop: “Parenting Our Teens - How to Stay Connected and Help Your Teen Cope”.
6-6:30 pm: Social Time for Parents
Phil Dominic brought a full on meal of chicken enchiladas, red rice and others brought deserts, drinks and other goodies. We sat around, ate, and shared stories.
At 6:30 we did an exercise during which we thought about strategies for the school to reach its eight goals. Parents went around the room and wrote ideas on large pieces of paper for ways the school might achieve each of its eight goals .
At 7pm the meeting officially started.
